The Benefits of Counselling
Counselling is a collaborative effort between the counselor and client. Professional counselors help clients identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; and promote behavior change and optimal mental health.
It takes bravery to decide to commit to counselling. As you begin this journey, you’ll quickly discover that healing requires more than just reducing symptoms and unhealthy habits if you want to create long-lasting improvements in your life. It is necessary to treat and manage underlying problems and traumas in order to be really free from behaviors and symptoms.
In order to remove the hurdles and obstacles, my counselling method focuses on strengthening your relationship with yourself and raising your level of consciousness. You have the ability to access your inner power, self-worth, and confidence after these barriers have been lifted. Working in therapy in this way will help you let go of the effects that traumatic and unpleasant experiences have had on you.
You will do the deep work to help reduce behaviors, lower emotional distress, and stop the disconnection that affects daily life by using a personalized combination of different models of counselling.
In many cases, an emotion is something that motivates you. You have the freedom to enjoy your relationships and live your life with integrity and resiliency. As a result, you can live from a place of authenticity.
My name is Maryam Khan Waglay and I have been serving my clients since 2016. I have focused on their individual and family wellness needs by providing the guidance and resources needed to understand the root cause of their issues and develop a plan that works for them.
Furthermore I am a registered Industrial/ Organizational Psychologist registered with the HPCSA and a trained coach. I provide counselling at an individual and group level.
